Kids of all ages enjoy Sand Art!
The wonderful colors of sand are easily seen through the variety of clear bottles. Watch as the children turn their bottle into their own sand art creation.
Supplies for Sand Art Kids Activity:
* Plastic Sand Art Containers for kids to design their masterpieces (25 peices included)
* Colorful Crafted Sand designed for kids arts and crafts
* Mini Funnels for filling containers
* Shallow buckets or containers that will allow kids to hold their art piece over the container while they fill
* At Least (1) 6" Long Table (2) 6' long tables for larger groups work best
* Plastic Spoons
* (25) Sand Art Containers for children to choose their design
* Ticket Box and Booth Sign (optional)
Activity Setup:
Before your event, set out your tables and place your shallow sand containers on the table.
Loosen the tops on your assorted sand art bottles, and place them out for the kids to choose theirs. We have found that it is easiest for children to use one funnel each for their entire craft, instead of placing a few in each colored sand. Then, they give it back for the next child to use.
Helping to regulate the flow, prevents some anxiety caused by less patient children pushing and possibly knocking over either the large sand container or someones art in progress.
Sand Art
* Note: If you have different sized art containers, we may charge a little more for the larger containers. Remember it is not just for the cost of the container, but for the extra sand it takes to fill it up.
* Note: the images above show the containers right next to each other, but we have found that at least 3" - 6" inches or more space between the colors prevents children from cross-contaminating by reaching across one color sand to another. Spilling & mixing the sand colors can result in additional charges.
How we recommend to Run the Sand Art Booth:
Separate your container by either size or price point, let the children choose a container and place one funnel on the top. Now, children will choose which color to add to design their sand art until the bottle is filled to the rim.
Adults or other carnival volunteers oversee this fun carnival booth and will refill sand levels if needed. Be sure to help younger children with any sand art lids or tops, but for the most part – the kids run this activity by themselves!
* Note: please remind children to tap their containers at the end to help the sand settle and add more sand to the top. Thus allowing the sand to be compacted and keep its design shape.
Pro Tip: Most schools charge $2.00 - $5.00 for kids to participate in this carnival booth. What a fantastic and easy way to entertain kids while making a little profit for your school or church fundraising event!
